Dress Obsessed Is There a Perfect Dress?

Dresses are the easiest way to look great in an instant but if you don’t have the right dress to wear then it can become an obsession looking for the one that will be right for you. It’s also such a hassle to keep trying on dress after plus size dress only to discover none of them look good on our figures. The most universally flattering dresses for women were the bell skirt styles of the 40’s and 50’s because dresses back then were designed to be more practical and also, tailored to a curvy figure. They were not designed to be revealing or to cling to a woman’s curves unless they were evening dresses or cocktail dresses. These women didn’t have to figure out their body type and go crazy looking for their size because they had their clothes tailored to fit their proportions. Now that we are modern women in need of modern styles, we need plus size dresses that we can count on without the extra work of tailoring. We aren’t exactly going to sit down and slave over a sewing machine for our perfect dress! So unless we can all afford our own seamstresses, here are the dress shapes that are proven to flatter every woman’s body type:

The sheath dress

The A-line dress

The wrap dress

One of these silhouettes will flatter any woman and they are also timeless.
